With fall approaching, which often brings transitions and schedule changes, it is important to prioritize self-care and your mental health. Self-care should be non-negotiable within your daily routine. It helps to prevent burnout, increase resilience, and supports long-term happiness by allowing us to recharge and create balance within our lives. Self-care can include rest, movement, connection, and creativity. Below, we discuss some different suggestions for self-care activities that are local to Farmington, CT.

  1. Take a walk on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail to increase vitamin D and boost your mood!
  2. Visit the Farmington Farmers Market on Saturdays 9am-2pm at the Sundquist Pavillion to explore local flavors and gather fresh produce
  3. Get some fresh air and movement kayaking or paddleboarding on Batterson Park Pond
  4. For more intense exercise and to appreciate the local beauty, hike the Metacoment Trail
