Billing, Estimate & Policy

Billing, Credit Card on File, and Good Faith Estimate Policy

At Shoreline Therapy Center, we are committed to maintaining a transparent, straightforward, and collaborative approach to billing and payment.

Payment Options

Clients may choose one of the following payment options:

  1. Pre-payment for scheduled services, or
  2. Keeping a credit or debit card on file, which will be charged for services after they are rendered

Providing a card on file is completely optional and is not required in order to receive services.

Use of Card on File

If you choose to keep a card on file, you authorize Shoreline Therapy Center to charge your card for:

  • Scheduled services after they are provided
  • Outstanding balances following invoicing
  • Late cancellation or no-show fees, in accordance with our cancellation policy

When possible, we aim to provide notice prior to charging the card on file.

Billing Process

  • Invoices are typically issued at the beginning of each month
  • Payment is expected within a reasonable timeframe following receipt of the invoice
  • If a balance remains unpaid, and a card is authorized on file, the card may be charged for the outstanding amount
  • If no card is on file, we ask that payment be made promptly to avoid interruption in services

Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to provide clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance with an estimate of expected charges for non-emergency services, including psychotherapy.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services. You may request this estimate before scheduling services.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. Please make sure to keep a copy or photo of your estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/

Authorization and Security

All payment information is securely stored and processed through HIPAA-compliant systems. You may update or remove your card on file at any time by contacting our office.
